Jim Wood is a Co-Founder and Chairman at StonePeak Real Estate Investments and President of the independent firm Stonewood Properties, Inc. With over 38 years of commercial real estate experience, Jim brings extensive expertise in acquisitions, development, asset management, leasing, and finance. He plays a key leadership role in guiding StonePeak’s investment strategy, drawing from a proven track record of successfully navigating complex real estate transactions and operational challenges through multiple market cycles.
Jim has overseen the management and leasing of more than 7 million square feet of commercial space and has led the acquisition of over $1 billion in real estate assets. His deep understanding of both institutional operations and property-level execution makes him a vital asset in identifying and maximizing value across StonePeak’s portfolio.
Prior to founding Stonewood, Jim was an executive at Spieker Properties, a publicly traded REIT, where he managed a 3 million square foot office and industrial portfolio. He has also held senior roles at the RREEF Funds and Grubb & Ellis Commercial Brokers.
Jim holds a Master of Real Estate Development (MRED) from the University of Southern California, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of the Pacific. He is a licensed real estate broker in the State of California and is based in Orange County, CA.

Trey Wood is a Co-Founder and President at StonePeak Real Estate Investments, overseeing the firm’s real estate acquisitions and asset management across the United States. He leads the acquisition strategy, manages due diligence efforts, and evaluates financial performance to guide investment decisions. Trey has been instrumental as a 1031 exchange consultant, assisting clients in the acquisition of over $800 million in commercial real estate assets.
His experience spans retail, office, industrial, and multifamily properties, with a focus on post-acquisition stabilization through asset management, construction, and leasing oversight. Trey also fosters key relationships with principals, brokers, managers, and vendors—enhancing execution and creating long-term value for investors.
Trey holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a Real Estate emphasis from the University of California, Irvine’s Paul Merage School of Business, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from San Diego State University’s Fowler College of Business. He is a licensed real estate broker in the State of California.
Away from work, he enjoys spending time outdoors and values a balanced lifestyle rooted in family, faith, and wellness.
